Param Pandya is an Assistant Professor at the School of Law, Shiv Nadar University, Chennai. His research focuses on enhancing the salience of stakeholders’ interests in corporate law and governance. He was previously the Quadrature Climate Foundation (QCF) Fellow in Climate Change and Corporate Law, Asia- Pacific Centre for Environmental Law, National University of Singapore, where he examined the legal and governance frameworks for strengthening the climate accountability of state-owned enterprises.

He holds a Ph.D. from the National University of Singapore (as President’s Graduate Fellow), where his doctoral thesis was on enforcement of directors’ duties to consider stakeholders’ interests within four common law systems – the UK, Australia, Singapore, and India. He also holds an MSc in Law and Finance from the University of Oxford (as J N Tata Scholar), and a B.Com. LL.B from Gujarat National Law University.

As a consultant with the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD)’s Sustainable Finance Team, he led the preparation of the report on Board Responsibility and Sustainability-Related Disclosure in Asia (2025). Prior to academia, he practised financial regulation and corporate law at Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas, Mumbai. He also worked on company law and insolvency law reform at the Vidhi Centre for Legal Policy, New Delhi, including assisting various expert committees constituted by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Government of India.

His pedagogical approach is informed by his experience across legal practice, policymaking, and academic research. He brings a practice-and policy-oriented perspective, presenting corporate law as a framework shaped by regulatory, institutional, and market realities.

• Served as the Lead Author (Consultant) for the Report on Board Responsibility and Sustainability – Related Disclosure in Asia (OECD, 2025)

• Assisted expert committees on insolvency law and company law reform constituted by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Government of India (2017-2019)

• Served as a member of the Core Group commenting on the UN Legally Binding Instrument on Transnational Corporations (2018)

• Assisted in preparing India’s Zero Draft of the National Action Plan under the UN Guiding Principles on Business & Human Rights (2018)

• Assisted the World Bank and the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India in drafting the Multimodal Transportation of Goods Bill (2018)
