Sriya Sridhar

Shiv Nadar Fellow
Sriya is an alumnus of Jindal Global Law School (Batch of 2020), and is currently pursuing her LL.M. in Innovation, Technology and the Law from the University of Edinburgh (batch of August 2025). Prior to joining the Shiv Nadar School of Law as a Shiv Nadar Fellow to pursue her aspiration of becoming a legal academic, Sriya worked at a leading law firm in its intellectual property and technology practice and as in-house counsel with a fintech company.

Sriya is experienced in advising clients ranging from startups to MNCs on the regulation of emerging technologies, legal issues in relation to product development and data handling, technology contracting, regulatory compliance and policy advisory. She has worked on the development of India’s Data Empowerment Architecture Framework, surveillance law reform, cybersecurity policies and Digital Public Infrastructure. She has also been recommended in the Legal 500 rankings under the Data Protection and Intellectual Property categories and holds a Certified Information Privacy Professional/Europe certification.

As a Shiv Nadar Fellow, she hopes to focus her research on data protection and privacy legal theory, the incentives which drive technology regulation and innovation, digital governance, and the dynamics between information, power, and society. She also aims to formulate courses on the intersection between law and emerging technologies, and work on updating existing legal courses to be cutting-edge, and reflect the latest technological developments.

Sriya is passionate about holistic legal education which incorporates a balance of theory, practical knowledge, robust research and writing, and soft skills. To this end, she has also taught online courses and engaged in student career counselling alongside her practice.
